Alan S. Goldberg Leads
Beth El Brotherhood

Alan S. Goldberg, who has chaired the
Sunday and daily minyans and the wor-
ship and ritual committee, is the newly
elected president of
Temple Beth El
Brotherhood.
The lifelong
Detroiter joined
Beth El in 1996.
He's a former
Temple Israel High
School classmate of
Beth El Rabbi
Daniel Syme.
Alan S. Goldberg
Before becoming
president, Goldberg
served as secretary on the Beth El
Brotherhood board.
Elected to serve with Goldberg are
Peter Goldberg, vice president;
Raymonde Wert II, treasurer; Curtis
Kuttnauer, assistant treasurer; and Louis
Rose, secretary.
Serving on the board are Gregory
Abidor, Jeffrey Berger, Adrian Christie,
Carl Cohen, Jerry Cole, Sidney
Dickstein, Herbert Goldstein, Harvey
Goodman, Marshall Hersh, David Hull,
Steve Kohler, Michael Levine, Alan

JWV To Award
Scholarships

The Michigan Jewish War Veterans and
Ladies Auxiliary will kick off their 58th
annual convention with the presentation
of 22 college scholarships at a public
Shabbat service 7:30 p.m. Friday, June
25, at the Jewish War Veterans
Memorial Home, 16990 W 12 Mile
Road, Southfield.
Convention. activities will continue
10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, with a
Jewish war veteran recognition service at
Temple Israel. State Commander Robert
Feldman and Auxiliary President Shirley
Schlussel will be honored at a banquet
that night at the Best Western Hotel in
Farmington Hills.
Fallen comrades will be remembered
at a memorial service 9:30 a.m. Sunday,
June 27, at the hotel followed by the
business portion of the convention and
the election of officers.
Past Department Commander
Milton Klein and Past Auxiliary
President Faye Glosser will co-chair the
activities.
