Service Award. The
posthumous award
was presented to his
widow, Randie
Levin, on June 2.
Levin's dedication
to
helping
children
Gerald Levin
gave the Southfield-
based Orchards
Children's Services national recognition
for its excellence in promoting the wel-
fare of families and improving the lives
of thousands of children. Prior to his
death on April 28 in Jordan, Levin
served on the Oakland County
InterAgency Task Force for Children's
Services, the National Commission on
Family Foster Care, the Southeastern
Michigan Section of the Governor's
Committee on Juvenile Service
Education and the National
Commission on Family Foster Care.

Jewish Home and Aging Services will
honor Robert H. Naftaly at its annual
meeting Tuesday, June 15, at the
Fleischman Residence/Blumberg Plaza,
JHAS in West Bloomfield on the
Jewish Community Campus.
Naftaly is an advocate of older
Jewish adult programs and services in
the Detroit Jewish community. He is
the immediate past president of the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit and a past president of the
JHAS. Naftaly is executive vice presi-
dent and chief operating officer for
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Michigan.
Rabbi Bob A. Alper of Vermont will
be the guest speaker. He has a contem-
porary style of comedy.
Rabbi Avie Shapiro, JHAS director
of religious activities, the installing offi-
cer, will install the following board
members: Dan G. Guyer, president;
Mitch Kantor, vice president; Cindy W
Schwartz, vice president; Pearlena
Bodzin, secretary; Janice B. Shatzman,
treasurer.
A reception and dessert buffet will
be served.
