for St. Joseph Mercy Oakland
includes taking care of the poor, the
helpless and the sick," he pointed
out, "and that's extremely critical at
Mercy Place. Dr. Bolton is most
symbolic of that statement — he's
the driving force behind the clinic.
He's carrying out his personal beliefs
and leaving footprints for others to
follow.
Feurig added, "The opening of
the new Mercy Place facility demon-
strates the commitment of the hos-
pital and Dr. Bolton to keep looking
after the sick people of the commu-
nity. The new clinic has more and
larger examining rooms and better
equipment to handle everyone's
needs. We're in this for the long

run.
In conjunction with the opening,
Dr. Bolton distributed flyers show-
ing a picture of him pointing a fin-
ger at the reader, similar to the old
Uncle Sam "I Wanr You" posters of
World War II.
Dr. Bolton's flyer said: "Mercy
Place Needs You," and lists the
needs, such as "physician volunteers,
sample medications, and funds to
keep our mission alive — taking
care of the underserved." 1-1
