Part I
was at school passing through
the halls, coming back from
learning about death and dying.
I saw my principal and she
asked me to go to her office. I
thought to myself, What did I do?
When I got to the office, my
uncle Dan was there and he told
me that my brother Evan had died
that night. He never woke up. I
started to cry.
I also felt bad for my brother
because he was only 2 1 /2 years
old. I was his hero. I went in my
uncle's truck and we drove home. I
was looking out the vvindow crying,
wondering if Evan was okay. I won-
dered where he was then.
I went inside my house and all of
my family members were there. I
ran over and hugged my mom. She
told me that when she found him he
was all blue in the face and when
she ran out of his room she called
91 1. She then ran outside and
screamed for help and all of our
neighbors came running to our
house. One saw a fire truck coming
