Youth Honored

Adat Shalom Synagogue's confirmation
and graduation classes of 1999 will be
honored at Nosh 'n Drash Shabbat,
Friday, May 28.
The confirmation students will lead
a Shabbat service beginning at 6 p.m. A
Shabbat dinner will follow Beginning
at 8:15 p.m., the confirmands will pre-
sent "Jewish Detroit Then and Now,"
depicting the history of our Jewish
community. High school students will
be called to the bima in acknowledge-
ment of this year's study, and graduat-
ing seniors will receive special recogni-
tion. Recipients of family scholarships
for travel to Israel will also be presented.
Nosh 'n Drash is the Adat Shalom
Monday evening dinner/activities/edu-
cation program for high school stu-
dents. This year's confirmands (10th
graders) studied Conservative Judaism
with Rabbi Efry Spectre and Rabbi
Herbert Yoskowitz. A special oneg
Shabbat honoring the 46 confirmands
and 30 graduates will follow the service.

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit will present the
annual Butzel Get-Away Monday,
June 28, through Sunday, July 4, for
senior adults.
Three kosher meals will be served
daily. A full activities program will
be provided, including a Shabbat
experience.
