BETH JACOB SHABBAT AT BETH EL
Temple Beth El swill celebrate Temple Beth
Jacob Commemorative Shabbat at an 8
p.m. service Friday, June 4. It will feature
Cantor Stephen Dubov, the Temple Beth
El Adult Choir and Detroit -Symphony •
Orchestra instrumentalists. Temple Beth El
has been the site of many Beth Jacob cele-
brations, including the annual meeting of
the Beth Jacob Chavura. When Temple
Beth Jacob of Pontiac closed several years
ago, many local charities were recipients of
its funds; several congregations received
Beth Jacob's Judaic a. The Beth Jacob board
selected Beth El to be the repository of the
temple's plaques, sculpture, ;ter tamid (eter-
nal lamp), a stained-glass window and
memorabilia. Many Beth Jacob families
have become active members of Beth El.
Two former Beth Jacob congregants have
served as Beth El Brotherhood presidents.
