any hour of any day (even evenings) at
his Fiddler Restaurant, on the north
side of West Bloomfield Plaza (where
Buddy's BBQ used to be) on Orchard
Lake Road, south of Maple.
Fiddler is the restaurant where tradi-
tional foods of Russia, Ukraine, Poland
and other European countries, as well
as America, can be gotten home-
cooked ... People like Avery Warnick
loved a salmon that Fiddler had ... and
asked Mike if he could put it on his
daily menu ... Now Avery has it regu-
larly ... Stuffed cabbage is a staple, but
tonight it'll be on the menu with low-
fat turkey stuffing as well as the stan-
dard beef ... and also may become a
stock item because of customer
requests ... Same with the cold beet
borscht ... another delicious dish at
Fiddler.
THE 17th ANNUAL B'nai B'rith
Golf Classic is set for Monday, July
12, at Edgewood Country Club on
Commerce Road, west of Union
Lake Road.
Event chairmen this year are Mike
Fishman (Sports Gallery in
Birmingham), Howard Ishbia and
Jamie Murray ... Irving Siegal is general
chairman ... Last year's event was a
complete sellout.
Those unable to golf are welcome to
be on hand for the cocktail hour, dinner
and evening festivities.
The $250 all-day cost includes buffet
brunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, lock-
er, balls, cocktail hour, dinner, gifts,
prizes and contests ... Golfers age 35
and under will pay $175.

coordinators; Emily Rogow and Bobbie

that recently opened on 13 Mile Road
and Woodward in the southwest cor-
ner shopping center ... David
Shpargel, former customer-pleaser
with his late dad, Sol Shpargel, at Sol's
Delicatessen, has salamis hanging from
the ceiling ... alona with steamers
filled with corned ° beef, pastrami, etc.,
for the sandwiches on regular rye
bread or bagels ... There are now 60
seats to which people can take their
sandwiches and eat.
New Detroit Bagel Factory is still
bossed over by Richard Steinik, with its
varied ways of making the w ater dough-
nuts and bialys ... The latter, by the
way, are those no cholesterol, no sugar,
