schedule that exists shouldn't interfere
with the education of the Jewish stu-
dent and not hamper students' ability
to be excused for the Jewish holidays,
he said. It's important "to make sure
that Jewish students are being treated
fairly and sensitively, with no negative
implications."
Gad-Harf said the Town Hall meet-
ings were a success, not by the num-
bers, but because of the feedback.
"The one message I received (from
attendees) was how pleased they were
that we came to them. We involved
them in the planning; we listened to
them the bulk of the meeting as a give
and take," he said. "I think that, more
than anything else, although it's hard
to quantify it, was a measure of the
(meetings') success." fl

Corrections
And Clarifications

A story last week about
Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert
gave the wrong political parties
for Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu, whose party is
Likud, and his Labor Party
challenger Ehud Barak.

A headline in a story last week
about a Holocaust survivor
returning to Plaszow incorrectly
referred to it as a Polish concen-
tration camp rather than a
German concentration camp in
Poland. The story also erred in
referring to Hungarian Gestapo;
the Gestapo were German.

The May 7 Mazel Toy! article
abour Bobby Piraino's "Bar
Mitzvah Blues" should have
identified Bobby's father as
Robert Piraino. The lyrics print-
ed with the article were excerpts
from the complete song.

In the article, "Hope or Hype?"
published April 23, the following
should have been attributed to
Linda Mandelbaum, not Suzette
Kroll: Mandelbaum is committed
to supplements, especially to tak-
ing a sizable amount of calcium
because her mother had osteo-
porosis. "I think of vitamin and
herbal supplements as preventive
medicine," says Mandelbaum. "I
take a lot of calcium, but I have
no idea if there's a point at which
more is too much."
