country and four state-champion
Quiz Bowl teams, a National Merit
Scholar and Cum Laude Society. He
served on student council, class board
and peer intervention. He will attend
the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology.
Gontovnik is a member of National
Honor Society, French National
Honor Society, varsity track, former
president of Future Problem Solving
and a National Merit Scholar finalist.
She was concertmaster of orchestra
and first violinist of the Aurora String
Quartet. She will attend the
University of Michigan College of
Engineering.

Akiva
Gonik is a member of National
Honor Society, student council secre-
tary, NCSY president, Bnei Akiva,
senior class vice president, yearbook
co-editor and fund-raising supervisor.
He played varsity basketball four years
and won the National Honors Science
Award and NCSY Regional Standards
Award. He will attend Yeshivat
Shaarei Mevaseret in Israel.
JULIAN GOODMAN
Andover
Goodman is a National Merit finalist,
winner of the 1998 Detroit
Chemistry Olympics, honorable men-
tion in Michigan Math Prize
Competition, and won the Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute Medal and the
Cornell Book Award. He was princi-
pal alto saxophonist of the 1998 All-
State Band at Interlochen and the
1998-99 U-M Youth Band. He stu-
dent-directed several Andover produc-
tions. He will attend Harvard
University.
