Tanzman has
Tanzman
been actively
involved in Beth Shalom, having served
on the presidium of sisterhood from
1994-96 and as president from 1996-
98. She served as program vice presi-
dent, treasurer, recording secretary and
as a committee member of the annual
donor luncheon and fund-raising events.
Tanzman organized the sisterhood's
Yiddish conversation group and book
discussion group. She chaired the first
Creative Handcraft Exhibit. During her
presidency, the first women's seder spon-
sored by a Conservative synagogue sis-
terhood in southeastern Michigan was
organized in 1996.
Representing Beth Shalom, Tanzman
was the Women's League for
Conservative Judaism Woman of
Achievement honoree in 1993. This
year, she's co-chair for Ask and Learn,
the WLCJ-Michigan Branch conference.
The Zamir Chorale of Metropolitan
Detroit will entertain at the luncheon.
