he March of the Living trip
has changed my life. The
experience has opened my
eyes, my heart, and my
mind like no other experience I have
had before.
I don't think I fully realized the
deep impact the trip had on me until
it was time to leave. In two short
weeks, I gained an understanding of
the darkest chapter in our recent his-
tory, tasted the true sweetness of the
land of milk and honey, and made
some of the best friends of my life.
The Poland experience was an
intense one. Not only were we just
getting to know each other and form-
ing our own mini-community, we
were face to face with places that are
synonymous with death: Auschwitz,
Maidanek, and Treblinka. We encoun-
tered anti-Semitism and contempt,
and we were all happy to leave.

When we got to Israel, it was as if
a huge weight was lifted off our
shoulders. It was sunny, warm and
inviting, and we truly felt like we
were returning home.
Here we were, in the Holy Land. It
moved us so much, knowing that we
were finally in the place that so many
of our ancestors had dreamed of com-
ing to and died trying to get to.
The week in Israel was like a
whirlwind. We visited so many
incredible sites, shared countless
unforgettable memories, and truly
celebrated our Judaism. From daven-
ing at the Kotel to celebrating Yom
HaAtzmaut in Hoshaya, we felt
proud to be Jews, carrying on the
rich cultural heritage and traditions
of our ancestors.
For me, it was an inspirational
experience. I feel so much more con-
nected to the Jewish community —
past, present and future. My Jewish
identity has been strengthened, and
my faith has been solidified.
