Bloomfield Synagogue-Chabad.
Sarah has won numerous awards in
forensics, is first cello in her school
orchestra, plays piano, enjoys computers
and plays on her school's basketball, vol-
leyball and soccer teams. She actively
participates in Adat Shalom's Shoresh
programs, is a member of B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization and full-time midos
teacher to her younger sister and broth-
ers, Emily, Teddy and Jacob.
Sarah's mitzvah projects included vol-
unteering at Yad Ezra and hosting
Shabbat services and dinner for the resi-
dents of Kadima.

Brenda Gail Wapner will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
April 24, at
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. She is the
daughter of Enid and
Samuel Wapner, the
sister of Rebecca and
granddaughter of
Mildred Breyer.
Brenda is also the
grandchild of the late
Bernard A. Breyer, the late Gertrude and
Jacob Wapner and the great-grand-
daughter of the late Rose Wolrauch.
A student at West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, Brenda
enjoys playing the piano and flute and
attending Camp Ramah in the summer.
For her mitzvah projects, she volun-
teered at Beth Hayeled Summer Day
Camp and helped with the Hadassah
Doll Project for children undergoing
procedures in Michigan hospitals.
Brenda will make a donation to Yad
Ezra in honor of her bar mitzvah.
Scott Daniel Bendix became a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday, April 17, at
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Scott is the son of
Lauren and Stephen
Bendix of West
Bloomfield and
brother of Brooke,
Jason and Matthew.
He is the grandson
of Lois and Seymour
Levine of Bloomfield Hills and Lucille
and Norman Bendix of Boca Raton,
Fla.
Scott is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills. He enjoys golf, tennis,
skiing and video games.
For his mitzvah project, Scott volun-
teered at Yad Ezra and helped deliver
food parcels.
