Danny Siegel is a lecturer, poet and
writer, teacher and humorist on the
national Jewish scene. His topics concern
mitzvah heroes and personalized tzedaka.
In 1981, he founded the non-profit Ziv
Tzedakah Fund, which has distributed
52,600,000 to worthy causes.
The Covenant award for exceptional
Jewish educators was bestowed upon
Siegel in 1993. In 1995 he received one
6 .of the Myrtle Wreath Awards from the
Greater Washington Area Chapter of
Hadassah. His 24 books include edi-
tions for children of all ages, essays on
everyday mitzvah heroes, great men-
schen, Jewish values and Talmudic
quotes about living Jewish life well.
Siegel holds a bachelor of science degree
in comparative literature from Columbia
University's School of General Studies
and a bachelor and masters degree of
Hebrew literature from the Jewish
Theological Seminary of America.
Mimi Weisberg is this year's donor
chair; the dinner is being prepared by
Chad Rose.
The donor is open to non-members
for $25, which includes a casual dinner.
