State Senator Gilda Jacobs, helped
prepare and serve meals at COTS
and helped to deliver meals for the
Salvation Army. Joanna takes tap
and piano lessons.

Jonathan Scott Wachlarz will be
called to the Torah on Saturday,
April 17, at

Jonathan is the son
of Dr. and Mrs.
Robert Wachlarz.
He is the brother of
Alexis, Alison and
Shelby, who will all
participate in the
service. He is the grandson of Gail
Sherman and the late Albert
Sherman, and Bessie Wachlarz and
the late Edward Wachlarz.
His uncles Dr. Errol Sherman and
Alfredo Frohlich will also participate
in the service.
Jon attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. He is in
the seventh grade and enjoys all
sports. He is an avid snowboarder
and baseball player.
Jon's mitzvah projects include
working as a classroom aide and
teaching basketball to young kids at
the Hebrew school.

Elisheva Shapiro will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on

Rachel Erin Gordon will celebrate
her bat mitzvah on Saturday, April
17, at Temple Beth El. She is the

Edward Ersher, and
great-granddaugh-
ter of Freda Ersher.
A seventh grader at Bloomfield
Hills Middle School, Rachel enjoys
skiing, golf and music. Her mitzvah
projects included volunteering at
Camp Beth El and packing food at
Gleaners.

Aly Stefany Berman will become a
bat mitzvah on Friday, April 16, at

A Farmington Hills Warner
Middle School student, Aly is inter-
ested in gymnastics, music and
dance. Her most meaningful mitz-
vah project involved contributing to
the Holocaust Memorial Center.

Scott Matthew Jacobs will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, April 16. He
is the son of Linda
and Mark Jacobs
and brother of

Alex Roth. He is
also the grandson of

the late Saul Jacobs.
He particularly enjoyed volun-
teering at a JARC home as part of
his mitzvah projects; he also sorted
clothing for the homeless and donat-
ed to the Holocaust Memorial
Center.
An honor student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
where he is involved in many extra-
curricular activities, Scott enjoys
sports, especially football, hockey,
basketball and baseball.

Kory David West will become a bar
mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, April 17.
He is the son of

His most meaningful mitzvah
project involved taking his dog to
visit residents at Fleischman
Residence; he also volunteered in
the Temple Israel Media Center and
donated to Mazon. A student at
Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield, Kory enjoys bowling,
golf and basketball.

Jordan Tyler Moss will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Friday, April 16, at

brother of Laura,
Clayton and Ethan.

Jordan is an honor student at

ball, baseball, computers and going
to camp.
Jordan has volunteered for many
activities at Shir Shalom as well as
visiting many of the local homes for
the aged.
