Shabbat Service AIDS Memorial Yiddish Club Marks Birthday Lev b'Omer, an international Jewish AIDS Memorial Day, will be observed at 7:45 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Congregation T'Chiyah's Detroit location. The service will include a memor- ial Kaddish for loved ones who have died from AIDS, the Mi She-beirach (prayer for healing), a panel display from the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, discussion and light refreshments. Jeff Stern and Peter Cooper are service leaders. The Reconstructionist congrega- tion meets at the Wayne County Medical Society, Room 205, 1010 Antietam, between Rivard and the Chrysler (I-75) Service Drive. The Yiddish Culture Club of the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Community Center in Oak Park will celebrate the 80th birthday of its president, poet and author Haim Rozental. The celebration will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at JPM. Rozental has been president of the club for seven Haim Rozental years, has authored four books and is editor of the Yiddish pages of the Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe's monthly newspaper. A concert in Jaffe Hall will include vocalists, violinists and pianists and a recital of Rozental's poems and bal- lads. Light refreshments will follow.
