al Inventory Reduction - IDE SALE April 30th of our entire of stunning nd time pieces n sale at East, West Join At Kibbutz An Israel Independence Day barbe- cue will bring together visitors from Michigan and their Israeli partners in the Central Galilee when Michigan Miracle Mission III visits Kibbutz Ein Dor on April 21. Although Americans from all over settled the kibbutz, the greatest number came from Detroit. The first kibbutz to be established after the declaration of Israel's indepen- dence, it celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. About 800 people live at Ein Dor. Since 1952, its ulpan has helped several thousand new immi- grants learn Hebrew The kibbutz has its own high school, a home for aged and plans activities for all age groups. Holidays are celebrated as a community. Kibbutz Ein Dor has a wine fac- tory, large dairy herd and meat and poultry branches; it practices organ- ic farming. Dorly, a doll factory; as well as a veterinary clinic and a wooden reel and drum factory are located on the kibbutz. The children's farm at the kib- butz organizes programs for chil- dren from surrounding villages. Its archeological museum fosters coop- eration between Arab and Israeli children. Another program for chil- dren shows them how to press olives at the ancient olive press and make and eat pita bread from grains of wheat they harvest and grind themselves. Independence Day Fest At Hillel Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit will host a community festival in celebration of Israel's independence 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21. Games, prizes, a raffle, arts and crafts are features of the sixth annual festival. Tickets are $5 for 20 punches. Food and cappuccino will be sold separately. Tammy Gorosh and Phyllis Pilcowitz are chairpersons for the event; Bonnie Kowalslcy serves as adviser. Additional parking will be available at Adat Shalom Synagogue with shuttle ser- vice to and from the school, 32200 Middlebelt, Farmington Hills.
