B'NAI MOSHE SHABBAT FAIR
Congregation B'nai Moshe will present a
different view of Shabbat with its
Shabbat Fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday,
April 18. Demonstrations include a
"John Madden" schematic take on the
Shabbat morning service, cholent cook-
ing, challah baking and crafts for all ages.
Ruach and zmirot performances, Israeli
dancing and storytelling. Free. Open to

readings and music by members of the

STATE COMMEMORATION
The Michigan Jewish Conference and
the governor's office present the State
of Michigan. Holocaust
Commemoration 11-noon Thursday,
April 22 in the Capital building rotun-
da, Lansing. "Survival, Hope and
Building a New Life in Michigan" will
be attended by Lt. Gov. Posthumus,
legislators and survivors from around
Michigan. House speaker Charles
Perricone will host. Insurance commis-
sioner Frank Fitzgerald will speak on
reparations and civil rights commission
chair Evelyn Crane will address efforts
to combat hate crimes. Free. The public

Habonim Dror will hold a family pic-
nic to celebrate Yom HaAczmaut (Israel
Independence Day) 1:30-4:30 p.m.
