DRAMA AWARD
Miriam Lewis of Oak Park has won
the English Association for Drama
Award in Israel. The annual festival
recently was held in Tel Aviv. The corn-
petition included 10 performances by
English-speaking theaters around the
country. Lewis won the award for best
individual performance in The Valerie of
Now. She has been invited to represent
the EADI and the State of Israel in the
Dundalk European English Drama
Festival in Ireland in May. Lewis is a
student at Roosevelt University in
Chicago and attending Hebrew
University for her junior year.

ROMAN GLASS
The Roman Glass Company special-
izes in jewelry designed by Israeli artists.
The glass found in Israel dates back to
the Roman period and can be 2,000
years old. Many of the designs are con-
temporary but inspired by history.
Cynthia Wroclawski, a representative of
the Roman Glass Company, will meet
with customers all day Thursday, April
22, at Neiman Marcus in Troy.

CALYPSO NIGHT
Detroit Country Day School will
hold a "Calypso Night Auction" on
Saturday, May 1, at the building in
Beverly Hills. Cynthia and Bobby
Roman and Michelle and Michael Zeid
are co-chairmen. The executive commit-
tee members include Laura and Steve
Korotkin, Anne and Steve Weiner, Jill
and Jeff Moss and Robert Levy. Cheryl
Chodun of WXYZ-TV is commentator.

DONOR DAY
Adat Shalom Sisterhood presents
"Men, Money and Maze'," a presenta-
tion on Tuesday, May 4, by Dr. Sonya
Friedman, the psychologist, author
and broadcaster. The luncheon event
starting with boutiques and coffee at
10 a.m., will also honor volunteer
