hen Ilana Borzak of
West Bloomfield had
her big eighth-birthday
bash, she made certain
she had plenty of ice on hand.
Dry ice, that is.
And some of the guests were posi-
tively animals.
Really.
The Borzaks had hired liana's sci-

ence teacher to make a presentation
in the family basement. "And he does
really fun experiments like with dry
ice, and he brings some of his ani-
c--
mals," Ilana explains. The crowd was
mesmerized.
The entertaining science teacher
was one of the many "great home
parties I've had in my 11-year life,"
Ilana says. She also loved the ones
with scavenger hunts and outside
games and paper-bag dramatics.
