"I thought if we had a class pro-
ject, when we were seniors it would
bond us together," said Rontal. The
Andover Victory Fund will send dis-
advantaged high school students from
inner-city public schools in Detroit
and Pontiac to summer school at the
University of Michigan. The Andover
organizers enlisted the help of sports
anchor Bernie Smilovitz of WDIV-
TV (Channel 4), who will be the
master of ceremonies. "We want as
many people as possible [to attend]"
said Rontal. "Just show up. Tickets
are sold at the door."
