40 :6:0Ab ao k. THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE. Kymber Blake, the makeup artist at Lori Karbal et al in Birmingham, agrees that brides need a little more makeup than usual on their wedding day. After all, she says, that makeup has to last and last, through the cere- mony, tons of pictures, a receiving line and an hours-long reception. Blake recommends using a translucent but brighter-than-normal blush on the cheeks, and she likes to intensify eyes rather than lips. "The eyes and cheeks are the most important features for brides," she says. Blake's practical tips include a nour- ishing moisturizer 15 minutes before makeup application, a dusting of loose powder to set the makeup, a little bit of white liner on the bottom lid to make eyes look bigger, and don't forget the eyelash curler. "Whatever you do," she says, "don't date your pictures with pastel colors on your eyes or too much frost. And don't dry out your skin before the big day." At Maya Skin Care in West Bloomfield, Laurie Sorge has been making up brides for 12 years. "I want to look like myself," is usually the first instruction she receives from her clients. And she agrees. "Less is best on the wedding day," she says. Sorge doesn't skimp on the eyes, though. She likes individual lashes to help open up the eyes, and liquid liner in neutral browns, grays and taupes. And she likes a pretty, natural-color blush with no heavy contour. She also warns about dating your photographs. "I recommend a light lip color," says Sorge. "If it's too dark, all you see is lips coming down the aisle." She puts concealer on the lips, then lines with a pencil, colors in the entire lip with the pencil, and finally applies the lipstick. "She'll be doing lots of kissing throughout the evening and with this application process, she won't have to touch-up her lipstick." Sorge also likes a matte lip color, with little gloss and no frost. "Powder is essential," says Sorge. "Set the makeup with loose powder. It has less oil than pressed powder. You can mix powders to give a little color to fair complexions." Finally, says Sorge, don't bake your- self to a dark tan before the wedding. "It's such an unnatural look. It's my biggest pet peeve. ) 7 With the help of Hebrew Free Loan many people can get the chance to experience the life events that matter most - from weddings and bar or bat mitzvah to education and business.
