Andover High School in Bloomfield
Hills will offer items from many pro-
fessional athletes at a sports memora-
bilia fundraiser for the Andover
Victory Fund, 7 p.m. Wednesday,
April 14, in the school gym.
Started four years ago, the fund
helps disadvantaged, inner-city Detroit
kids take part in a mentoring program
at the University of Michigan.
Bernie Smilovitz of WDIV-TV
(Channel 4) will be the evening's master
of ceremonies. The big-ticket items are a
hockey jersey and a puck signed by
Steve Yzerman (Detroit Red Wings), a
Mark McGwire (St. Louis Cardinals)
rookie baseball card, and a Joe Dumars
jersey and two basketballs signed by
Grant Hill (Detroit Pistons).
Peter Ciavaglia, a standout on the
Detroit Vipers hockey team, will be
