Bar/Bat Mitzvah Marissa Efros cele- brated becoming a bat mitzvah on March 26, at Temple Emanu-El. She is the daugh- ter of Barry and Kim Efros of Farmington ,Hills and Caren Moran of Farmington Hills. Marissa is in the seventh grade at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills. She enjoys sports, reading and playing bassoon in the school band. Kimberly Casey Coden celebrated her bat mitzvah on Saturday, March 20, with Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring, at the Millennium Center in Southfield. Friends and family joined Casey, her parents Ron and Renee Coden, and her brothers Michael and David at the simchah. She is the grand- daughter of Evelyn and Hyman Sipher, Maurice Coden and Beverly and Jack Worpell. Participating in the program were shule students singing as a chorus to honor Casey. Jan Adler, shule director, officiated; Elaine Zaks, field director, brought greetings from Workmen's Circle locally and nationally. Casey's bat mitzvah presentation was titled 'Al Jolson: Russia to Hollywood." For her Yiddish component, she recited excerpts from the eulogy given for Al Jolson. Casey is a seventh grader at Norup Middle School in Oak Park. Her interests include cello, sports and dra- matics; she is an avid camper at Camp Tanuga. Her mitzvah projects includ- ed volunteering at the Focus Hope food program and the city of Oak Park latch key and senior food pro- grams. She is a member of the Woods Strivers, a community service group in Huntington Woods that does work in the metropolitan area.
