The program, a one-to-one learning project, was established in Nov. 1998 by Machon L'Torah. It was limited tt- women only and will now expand to offer a men's division, which will meet 8 p.m. every Wednesday starting April 28, at the Machon L'Torah Learning Center, 15221 West 10 Mile Rd., Oak Park. Rabbi Feuer is a Torah scholar and a member of the Kollel Institute of Greater Detroit with experience in adult education. To join the program, contact Rabbi Feuer, (248) 967-0888. Awards Honor Local Women The 1999 ADL Women of Achievement Awards, sponsored by the Michigan Regional Advisory Board of the Anti-Defamation League will be presented at 6 p.m. Monday, April 19, at St. John's Cultural Center in Southfield. The awards honor Michigan women who exemplify the philosophy of the ADL through their efforts to promote and inspire greater under- standing among the diverse communi- ties of Metropolitan Detroit. This year's honorees are Vernice Davis Anthony, senior vice president, Community Health, St. John Health System; Deborah Insley Dingell, presi- dent, General Motors Foundation; Nancy N. Margolis, executive director, Jewish Community Center and Jewish Federation of Washtenaw County; and Barbara Palmer, vice president, Corporate Human Resources, Henry Ford Health System. In addition, Josephine Weiner will receive a special Lifetime Achievement Award for her 65 years of advocacy and volunteerism.
