AIFFENTION Jewish Literacy • Coalition Launched \Th On the heels of the creation of the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy, the Jewish Community Council of Metropolitan Detroit is bringing the program's national founder to the community. Leonard Fein will discuss "America's Promise: the Jewish Community's Commitment to Literacy" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the Max M. As its leader, the DJCL, with 17 organizational partners, has hired Lauren S. Marcus, an AmeriCorps fellow. AmeriCorps is the national service movement that engages Americans in service to address criti- cal community problems.
