The upstairs ambience is sheer ele-
gance ... and for all this, the Little
Daddy's prices have not changed.
LA FENDI Middle-Eastern
Restaurant has opened in the
Bloomfield Avenue Shops on Haggerty,
between 15 Mile and Walnut Lake
Road, in West Bloomfield ... A full
menu is offered for both dining in and
carry-out, seven days a week ... It also
has a liquor license ... The popular La
Fendi in Lathrup Landing, 11 Mile
and Evergreen, Lathrup Village, recent-
ly received a liquor ticket as well.
HE ALWAYS DID have a knack for
creativeness when it came to cooking,
but noted chef Dave Fekay, author of
The Sensuous Kitchen, wanted to come
up with something even more different.
So, for the little dinner party he
prepared at our home, Dave dazzled
my wife, Frieda; his wife, Joan; and
Bud and Muriel Sherbow, with his ren-
dition of a lavish dinner aboard the
Titanic .. complete with printed menu.
"Coquille, fromage Romanoff, ship's
biscuits, grilled rock lobster and
Hawaiian tuna reposing on ICEBERG
lettuce, garni and sauces Escoffier and
Fekay, Pamplemousse" ... Then Dave's
Titanic entrees ... "scampis of shrimp,
Lady Frieda; rack of lamb, Lady Muriel;
and grilled breast of maple duck, Lady
Joan; with sauce Victoria" ... For dessert,
Dave had "UNSINKABLE lifeboats of
Macedoine of fresh fruit, poached pears
and puree of Queen Raspberry" ... The
luscious finish also included a bed of
"White Star Line French vanilla glace,
Carpathia raspberry and Flying
Dutchman chocolate points."
Dave has returned to live in the local
area ... and is considering two food
possibilities ... catering and chefing.
CONGRATS ... to Sid Neuman,
owner of Star Deli ... on his 70th
birthday, March 25.
IT'S STILL A Chuck Muer restau-
rant ... very much so ... That Alaskan
Crab Festival now going on until April
24 at Meriwether's on Telegraph, is
another in the popular seafood pro-
motions by restaurants bearing the
Chuck Muer name.
TASTE OF ISRAEL kosher restau-
rant is now called Taste of Class ...
sold by Ofer Ohana to Miriam and
Chuck Ehrenreich and their son,
David ... The kosher restaurant is on
Greenfield between 9 and 10 Mile.
TRIBUTE TO THE late Count
Basie by Johnny Trudell and his fine
big band is set for Sunday, March 28,
from 3-5 p.m. ... in the Louis B.
Schmidt Auditorium at Clarenceville
High School, on Middlebelt Road
south of Eight Mile Road in Livonia.
