Jeffrey Scott Weiner was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
March 13, at Temple Beth El. Jeffrey is
the son of Marc and
Harriet Weiner and
the brother of Dana
and Laura. Proud
grandparents are
Leonard and Barbara
Barron and Sam
Weiner. He is also
the grandson of the
late Ethel Weiner.
Jeffrey is a seventh grader at East
Hills Middle School in Bloomfield
Hills. He enjoys football and basket-
ball. For his mitzvah project, Jeffrey
worked for Volunteer Impact; he
plans to donate some of his bar mitz-
vah money to Yad Ezra.
Jennifer Shayna Woodberg will cele-
brate her bat mitz-
vah on Saturday,
March 20, at
Temple Beth El.
She is the daughter
of Bonnee and
Larry Woodberg
and sister of Bradley
and Allison. Proud
grandparents are
Nita and Irving Barit. She is also the
granddaughter of the late Louis and
Lorraine Woodberg.
Jennifer is an honor student at
Berkshire Middle School in
Birmingham. She enjoys dancing, soc-
cer, volleyball, skiing, music, the
Detroit Red Wings and - attending
Camp Tamarack. Her mitzvah projects
include volunteering at Yad Ezra, help-
ing in the media center at her former
elementary school and reading stories to
her sister's kindergarten class.
Zachary Yost of Farmington Hills will
be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Saturday,
March 20. Rabbi Efry Spectre, Rabbi
Daniel Nevins, Rabbi Herbert
Yoskowitz, Cantor Larry Vieder and
Cantor Howard Glantz will officiate.
Participating in the ceremony will be
parents, Beverly and Alan Yost, and
older brother Robert
Yost. Proud grandfa-
ther is Bernard
Becker of Southfield.
Zachary is an
honor student at
Hillel Day School
in Farmington
Hills. He plays
hockey for the Farmington Hills
Hockey Association and baseball with
the North Farmington-West
Bloomfield Baseball Association. Zack
looks forward to spending his sixth
summer at Camp Maas. For his mitz-
vah project, Zack worked at Yad Ezra.
Daniel Eric Schwartz will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, March 20, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is the son of Tracy
Schwartz and Michael Shpiece,
Robert Schwartz and Tracey Allen
and brother of
David, Bradley and
Matthew. Proud
grandparents are
Helen and Milton
Barnett and great-
grandfather Robert
Schiff. Daniel is the
grandson of the
late Evelyn and Leo
Schwartz.
Daniel attends O.E. Dunckel
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
where he plays saxophone in the
school band. He enjoys skiing, soccer,
basketball and music. He completed
the 13 mitzvot program at Adat
Shalom, which included serving the
homeless and donating to Yad Ezra.
Sam Segall will become a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, March 20, at Congregation
Beth Shalom. He is the son of Carolyn
and David Segall and brother of Jake.
Proud zayde is Nathan Flaisher. He is
also the grandson of the late Rebecca
Flaisher and Zangwell and Molly Segall.
Sam is a seventh-grade student at
Norup Middle School in Berkley, where
he played football and
is in the orchestra. He
also attends summer
camp at Camp
Tamarack and Blue
Lake Fine Arts Camp.
Sam's favorite
mitzvah project was
the quilt made col-
lectively by his class
with the Michigan
Jewish AIDS Coalition. He is also
planning a donation to the preschool
at the Jewish Community Center in
Oak Park.
