•
The Ecumenical Institute for Jewish-
Christian Studies' 1999 Dove Award
winners will be honored at a dinner at 6
p.m. Thursday, April 29, at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
The award will be presented to Gary
Faber, deputy superintendent of West
Bloomfield Schools; the Rev. Lottie
Jones-Hood, pastor, First
Congregational Church of Detroit; and
Frank D. Stella, chairman, CEO and
founder of F.D. Stella Products Co. of
Detroit.
"These three outstanding individuals,
representing the educational, religious
and business communities, exemplify
the mission of the Ecumenical Institute,
which is to help Jews and Christians
learn more about each other's beliefs
without attempting to convert their reli-
gious practices," said David Blewett,
executive director of the Southfield-
based, non-profit organization.
Ecumenical Institute board members
Tarik Daoud, president of Al Long Ford
Inc., Warren, and Merton Segal, chair-
man and CEO of Meadowbrook
Insurance Group Inc., Southfield, are
co-chairing the Dove dinner. Its theme
is "Making a Difference."
The annual event, begun in 1994,
