Randi Nicole Schaefer will be called to the Torah as bat mitzvah on Saturday, March 13, at Temple Shir Shalom. Randi is the daughter of Lyle and Jan Schaefer and sister of Dana. Asher Nolan Dunn will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Saturday, March 13. He will celebrate this special occasion with loving grand- parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from all over the United States. Asher is the son of Amy and Steven Dunn, elder brother of Jacob and grandson of Shirley Ducatman and Deborah Dunn. He is also the grandson of the late Fred Ducatman and Bernard Dunn. Asher is a student at Hillel Day School in Farmington Hills and a member of Adat Shalom Synagogue. He is a master artist, inventor, Lego builder and gadgeteer, following in the footsteps of his grandfathers and great- grandparents. He is known for his smile, the twinkle in his eye, his great sense of humor and his genuine warmth and kind-heartedness. He enjoys people and looks forward to the greater responsibilities he will assume on reaching this major life cycle event. Lauren Ruth Gardner will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, March 13, at Congregation Beth Shalom. Lauren is an excellent student at Norup Middle School in Oak Park. She enjoys playing the flute, perform- ing and being with friends. Through the Woods Strivers, a community teen organization, Lauren participated in many volunteer activities and was recipient of an Outstanding Youth Award through the Berkley- Huntington Woods Youth Assistance Organization. In addition, Lauren plans to make a donation to benefit CATCH in honor of her bat mitzvah. Erica Lane Silverman will become a bat mitzvah on Saturday, March 13, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Erica is an honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills and plays the flute in the school band. She enjoys draw- ing, reading, movies and tennis.
