The Jewish women section is one
of the most extensive, with links to
suit almost every taste.
The page ends with links to Jamie's
family photo album. It's a folksy touch
for a homepage that combines useful-
ness with a comfortable, cozy feel that
may make the vast Internet seem a lit-
tle less intimidating.

Jewish
Web Ring
Web rings are relatively new inno-
vations — loose collections of sites on
a related topic. At the bottom of the
homepage of each member are some
choices: you can go directly to the
next site in the ring, or get a clickable
list of the next five sites, or a list of all
sites.
The Jewish History Web Ring,
owned by the Dinur Center for Jewish
History at the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, is small as Web rings go;
currently, there are 13 sites listed,
ranging from Dinur's own rather
pedestrian homepage, which is more
like a catalog of the group's activities,
to L.M. Berkowitz's spectacular Jewish
history Web site, which specializes in
Jews in the Civil War.
The Beth Hatefutsoth site includes
a small but nice collection of pictures
of Jews in Arab lands; a synagogue in
Palo Alto, Calif, has a surprisingly
rich cyber-exhibit on Jewish history
