After the war, he went into business with his father and brother at Michigan Bag and Barrel Co. in Detroit. In 1951 he started Enterprise Industrial Sales, selling steel to the automotive industry He contributed to student scholar- ship and loan programs at a variety of schools including Wayne State University and University of Michigan- Dearborn. A lover of art, Mr. Berkowitz amassed the largest collection of Baccarat Crystal in the United States. He donated his collection to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. In recognition of his support of education and service to humanity, he received an honorary degree from Wayne State University. Mr. Berkowitz is survived by his sis- ter, Bertha Levine of Bloomfield Hills. He was the loving brother of the late Ruth Berkowitz, the late Julius Berkowitz and the dear brother-in-law of the late Joseph Levine. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
