ARTSPACE PARTY
More than 75 art lovers recently
gathered at Artspace II gallery in
Birmingham for the Michigan open-
ing of artist Nick Blosser's egg tern-
pera paintings. When I find an artist
who has never shown in the Midwest,
I do a mini-show," says Lois Pincus,
owner of Artspace II gallery. Her
gallery is unique, because most of the
works are sold on consignment. "I
look for quality and artistic merit,"
explains Pincus. Items in her gallery
range from $40 to $100,000. Some of
the art lovers admiring the gallery
included Barbara Mazer, Elaine and
Barry Yaker, Hank and Sue Marx,
Brenda and Howard Rosenberg,
Marianne and Alan E. Schwartz.
Blosser's work will be exhibited
through March 20.
RED HEART BLUES
"Red Heart Blues . . . and all the
Jazz," a recent fundraiser for the
Henry Ford Heart and Vascular
Institute, raised $140,000 to fund
research at the Institute. More than
450 patrons attended the event.
Highlights included a silent auction
and a performance by flutist
Alexander Zonjic. Lila Lazarus of
WDIV-TV was a co-emcee of the
event.
