Goldberg-Brodsky

Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Brodsky of West
Bloomfield are happy to announce the
engagement of their daughter Audrey
Sue to Darren Bradford Goldberg, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Goldberg of
University Park, Fla.
Audrey earned a bachelor of science
in special education for the visually
impaired from Eastern Michigan

University. She is teaching visually
impaired and multi-handicapped chil-
dren in Fairfax County, Va. Darren
earned a bachelor of science in econom-
ics from West Virginia University. He is
a systems analyst with Signal
Corporation in Fairfax, Va.
A summer wedding is planned at the
Hotel Baronette.

Beckerman-Rope

Teresa Shiri Rope and Bryan Michael
Beckerman were recently married at
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses. Rabbi Aaron Bergman and
Cantor Samuel Greenbaum officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. Stephen J. Rope of Southfield. The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen
S. Beckerman of West Bloomfield.
Jodi Cranis, sister of the bride, was
the matron of honor. Cheryl Rope, sis-
ter of the bride, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stephanie Wagner,
Whitney Spirou and Stephanie Simon.
The best man was Scott Beckerman,

brother of the groom. Groomsmen were
Scott Cranis, brother-in-law of the
bride, Sean West, Fred Baker, Sean
Johnson and Kevin Sandler. Ushers were
Ron Letwinski, Rock Drysdale and Joel
Davidson.
Also participating in the ceremony
were Bernardine Berman and Sanford
and Onny Rope, grandparents of the
bride, and Beverly Beckerman, grand-
mother of the groom. The flower girl
was Mara Cranis, niece of the bride.
Following a honeymoon in the
Hawaiian Islands, the couple will reside
in Berkley.

Smilack-Friedenberg

Rhonda (Katz) and David Friedenberg
of Coral Springs, Fla., formerly of West
Bloomfield, announce the engagement
of their son Lee Jason to Susan Smilack,
daughter of Joyce and Zale Smilack of
Atlanta.
Lee earned his bachelor of science
degree in decision and information sci-
ences from the University of Florida.
He is employed with the firm of Hewitt
and Associates in Atlanta.
Susan earned her bachelor of science
degree in decision and information sci-
ences from the University of Florida.
She is employed with the firm of
Andersen Consulting in Atlanta.

A May wedding is planned in
Atlanta.
The future bridegroom is the grand-
son of former Oak Park residents
Evelyn and Simon Katz of Tamarac,
Fla., and former Detroiters Dorothy
Friedenberg of Sunrise, Fla., and the
late Charles Friedenberg.
The future bride is the granddaugh-
ter of Mildred Hershberg of Atlanta and
the late Albert Hershberg, and Jeanette
Smilack of Phoenix and the late Lester
Smilack. She is also the great-grand-
daughter of Sophia Saul Weiss of
Atlanta.

BenkoffiGreen

Sharon Benkoff and Dennis Green were
married recently at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. Rabbi M. Robert
Syme and Cantor Harold Orbach offici-
ated.
Sons Todd and Eric Green and Marc
Benkoff participated in the ceremony.
Sharon is the daughter of Betty and the
late Arthur Benson of Southfield.
Dennis is the son of the late Mae and

Max E. Green.
Sharon is employed as a paralegal in
Southfield. Dennis is the president and
creative director of Dennis Green
Advertising and Public Relations in
Farmington Hills.
After a honeymoon in Miami Beach
and on an Eastern Caribbean cruise, the
couple are residing in Farmington Hills.
