country. Amy enjoys singing, working
with children and attending Camp
Ramah in the summer. Her mitzvah
projects included the Hadassah Doll
Project, making gifts for children at
Alyn Hospital and working at Shaarey
Zedek Day Camp.

Melissa Jane Serwer of Franklin will
become a bat mitzvah at Temple Beth
El on Friday, Feb. 26. Melissa is the
daughter of Susan and Harold Serwer,
sister of Alex Serwer. She is the grand-
daughter of Dorothy
and Charles Benjamin
and the late Judith
and Samuel Serwer.
Melissa is an honor
student at Berkshire
Middle School in
Birmingham. She
enjoys dancing,
music, tennis and
going to camp. Her mitzvah projects
included volunteering at the Orchards
children's holiday party and assisting in
the arts programs at Hayes Jones
Community Center in Pontiac.
Ariel Drissman of Farmington Hills will
be bar mitzvah at Bais Chabad of
Farmington Hills on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Rabbi Chaim Moshe Bergstein will lead
services.
Participating in the ceremony will be
Ariel's father, Michael
Drissman; brothers,
Avi and Ezra; and
uncle Dr. Arthur
Gaba. Proud mother,
Harriet, and sisters,
Shira and Talya, will
also be there.
Ariel is a student at
Hillel Day School.
He is active in NCSY. He has been a
teacher's helper every Sunday morning
for two years for the kindergarten at
Congregation Beth Shalom.
