Bar/Bat Mitzvah Alex Ian Kahn will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Alex is the son of Andrea Kahn and Mark and Gayle Kahn and is the brother of Ilyssa. His proud grand- parents are Betty and Dan Kahn and Marilyn Lilly. He is also the grandson of the late Murray Lilly. Alex attends seventh grade at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, where he received hon- ors recognition. He also attends Adat Shalom Hebrew School, where he has completed the 13 mitzvot program. Alex enjoys a number of sports, including tennis, basketball, skiing and golf. His favorite mitzvah project was volunteering for JARC, an orga- nization for developmentally disabled adults. Noah Graff Goodman will become a bar mitzvah on Friday, Feb. 26, at Temple Israel. He is the son of Maxine Graff Goodman and Neil Goodman, brother of Ethan and Kailey and grandchild of Bobbi Graff and Celia Goodman. He is also the grandson of the late Manny Graff and the late Lawrence Goodman. Mitzvah projects included conduct- ing a children's used book drive, volun- teering at the Temple Israel Labor Day picnic and sorting clothes for the home- less. An honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills, Noah is interested in baseball, football, skiing, basketball, tennis, in-line hockey and following college football. He also enjoys playing the trumpet and listening to music as well as attending Camp Tamakwa. Jason Nathan Potash will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Friday, Feb. 26, at Temple Israel. He is the son of Andrea and Harry Potash and brother of Stephanie and Brandon. He is the grandson of Rae Appel and Phyllis Potash; he also is the grandchild of the late David Appel and the late Nathan Potash.
