The Barbara and Douglas Bloom
Matzah. Factory will return to the
Kahn Jewish Community Center
beginning Sunday, March 21, through
Sunday, March 28. The factory will
offer public tours on both Sunday
afternoons starting at 1:15 p.m. The
last tour will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Admission is $3 per child; there is
no charge for accompanying adults.
Each participant will receive a baker's
hat, will grind wheat from kernels,
bake a piece of matzah and create a
Passov- er craft.
School groups may tour, by
appointment only, Sunday mornings
and Monday through Thursday; call

speaker at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5,
at Temple Beth El's 1999 Brotherhood
Shabbat.

be the Temple Beth El Adult Choir,
led by Cantor Stephen Dubov, as well

Paul on the Lake Catholic Church in
St. Clair Shores.

to President Clinton on policy and
strategy, will
speak at "The
Main Event" on
behalf of the
Jewish
Federation's
Allied Jewish
Campaign 5:30
p.m. Thursday,
March 25, at
Congregation
Shanrey Zedek,

Southfield.
Stephanopoulos
The
Campaign is the
annual appeal of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit to
help Jews in Detroit, Israel and 58
countries around the world.
Stephanopoulos, whose topic will
be "Politics, the Art of the Impossible
— a View from Washington," was a
strategist in both Clinton presidential
campaigns and was deputy campaign
manager and director of communica-
tions during the 1992 presidential
election. Following the election, he
served as a senior policy adviser to the
president.
Before joining President Clinton's
campaign and administration,
Stephanopoulos was the executive floor
manager to House Majority Leader
Richard Gephardt. In 1998, he was
•
deputy communications director for the
Dukakis/Bentsen presidential campaign.
Earlier, he was an administrative assis-
tant for Rep. Edward Feighan of Ohio.
Currently, Stephanopoulous is a
visiting professor at the School of
International and Public Affairs at
Columbia University and a contribu-
tor to ABC News, serving as a politi-
cal analyst on "This Week," "Good
Morning America" and other ABC
News programs.
Admission to the Main Event is $36.
For donors over age 35, a minimum
$500 gift to the 1999 Allied Jewish
Campaign also is required to attend.
Donors age 35 and under may attend
with a minimum $250 Campaign gift.
Event chairs are Joel Gershenson and
Ron Klein.
Hot hors d'oeuvres and cocktails
will be served at the Main Event.
