Roger Louis Sacks will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Feb. 20, at Bet Chaverim in Canton.
He is the son of Cecile and Stuart Sacks
and brother of Neil and Darren. Roger
is also the grandson
of the late Norman
and Ann Sacks and
the late Joseph and
Theresa Dewhirst.
Roger is an honor
student at Holmes
Middle School in
Livonia. He excels in
many sports and is
an elite soccer player for the Plymouth
Kicks premier team. He enjoys in-line
hockey and camping.
Through Bet Chaverim education,
Roger has volunteered his time to Yad
Ezra. In honor of his bar mitzvah, he
will make a donation to Yad Ezra.
LeeTal Levran became a bar mitzvah at
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses on Saturday, Feb. 13. LeeTal is
the son of Joy and Zvi Levran, brother
of Amit and Mikole. Proud grandpar-
ents are Tom and
Chava Adler and
Ze'ev Levran. He is
also the grandson of
the late Shulamit
Levran.
LeeTal is an honor
student at Hillel Day
School in Farmington
Hills, where he runs
on the cross country team. He also
plays goaltender for the Farmington
Hills Hockey Association. LeeTal enjoys
taking Hip-Hop classes.
He found working at Yad Ezra very
rewarding and he also had the opportu-
nity to work with senior citizens at
Fleischman Residence and with resi-
dents at JARC.
Daniel Levenson will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Feb. 20, at Temple Emanu-El. He is the
son of Arthur and Denise Levenson and
brother of Molly. Proud grandparents
are Clara Shpargel and Hyman and
Evelyn Levenson.
Daniel's mitzvah project is working
with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
and the American Diabetes Association
by fund raising and volunteering his
time at special
events. He also par-
ticipates in several
support groups and
helps other children
understand what it is
like to have diabetes.
He is a seventh grad-
er at Norup Middle
School in Berkley and is active with the
Woodstrivers Club and the Tech Club.
Daniel also attends Schoolcraft College
during the summer months for techni-
cal and computer classes.
Adam Talan Jacob was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah in Israel on Dec.
26, 1998. He is the son of Linda and
Andy Jacob and brother to Sarah and
Noah. He is the grandson of Beverly
and Marvin Talan
and Richard and Pat
Jacob.
Adam is an honor
student at Cranbrook
Kingswood Middle
School in Bloomfield
Hills. He enjoys soc-
cer, basketball, base-
ball, skiing, golf and
fishing.
Adam enjoyed working at Orchards
Children's Services holiday party, help-
ing foster children and their families as
his mitzvah project.
Adam feels that his bar mitzvah was
special having it in Israel and sharing it
with his family, especially grandparents
Beverly and Marvin Talan. He planted
a tree there in honor of the occasion.
Daniel Brent Kaye was recently called
to the Torah on the occasion of his bar
mitzvah at Temple Beth Orr in Coral

Springs, Fla. Daniel is the son of former
Detroiters Linda and Robert Kaye and
brother of David.
Proud grandparents

Plantation, Fla.,
Philip and Frances
Kaye Tarter of
Delray Beach, Fla.
He is also the grand-
son of the late Paul
Kaye.
Daniel is a seventh-grade student at
the University School of Nova
Southeastern University. His hobbies
include basketball, golf, computers, col-
lecting CDs and playing bass guitar.
