Knowing Ira Kaufman's great grandson Chad and great granddaughter Stephanie were

monitoring the chapel's Web site and answering e-mail inquires, we don't have to imagine

the smile on Ira's face, we just look

at Grandpa Herbie.

JESSY STEARN, 86, of Farmington
Hills, died Feb. 9.
Mr. Stearn was a machinist at
Ford. He was a member of B'nai
B'rith, a bowler and a past president
of the Downtown Fox lodge.
Mr. Stearn is survived by his sons
and daughters-in-law, Allyn "Ron"
and Nita Stearn of West Bloomfield;
Gary and Donna Stearn of Hartland;
daughter and son-in-law Eve "Chick"
and Larry Berthiaume of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren Randy Fisher,
Kim and Doug Krest, Michael and
Jason Berthiaume, Todd and Terri
Stearn, Shawn and Lisa Stearn, Ryan
and Miles Stearn, Nadine Stearn,
Stephanie Stearn, Billie Stearn and
brother and sister-in-law Milton and
Bertha Stearn of Southfield.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Evelyn Stearn and the dear broth-
er of the late Rose Miller and the late
Rae Krowitz. Interment at B'nai Israel
Cemetery.

ESTHER STEINBERG, 91, of West
Bloomfield, died Feb. 11.
Mrs. Steinberg was a business
manager for a physician's office. She
was an original volunteer at the Sinai
Hospital Gift Shop and volunteered
at various other organizations. She
lived at three Jewish homes for the
aged.
Mrs. Steinberg is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Robert and
Cynthia Steinberg of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren Jonathan and
Susan Steinberg, Dr. David Steinberg
and Miriam Steinberg and Lou
Spezio; great-grandchildren Erin and
Jane Steinberg, Sam and Mel
Steinberg, Jacob and Rachel
Steinberg-Spezio.
She was daughter of the late Jacob
and Rachel Blumberg and sister of the

late Sophie Tolmich, the late Sadie
Simon, the late twins Irving and
Louis Blumberg, the late Florence
Kanter.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
directed to the Blumberg Plaza
Activities Fund at Fleishman
Residence, 6710 West Maple, West
Bloomfield, MI 48322.

BERNICE WAXMAN, 89, of
Chicago is survived by her daughters
and son-in-law, Harriet and Richard
Cohen of Skokie, Ill., Marcy
Chudnov of Farmington Hills; grand-
children Steven and Rose and Jordan
Cohen, Judith and Eric Solomon,
David Chudnov, Daniel Chudnov;
great-grandchildren Jacqueline Renee
Cohen, Michael Andrew Solomon,
Stephanie Kate Solomon; sister Sylvia
Bromberg.
Mrs. Waxman was the beloved wife
of the late Bernard Waxman.
Tnterment in Chicago. Contributions
may be directed to any cancer fund.

DINA WEINTAL, 97, of Israel, died
Feb. 8.
Mrs. Weintal is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and
Malka Weintal of Israel, Avrohom
and Miriam Gafny of Israel; four
grandchildren, six great-grandchil-
dren; brother and sister-in-law Jakob
"Kuba" and Esther Liwazer of West
Bloomfield; sister Liza Shklar of
California.
She was the beloved wife of the L
late Mordchai Weintal. Interment in
Israel.
