SHELDON D. SLAVIN, 70, of
Farmington Hills, died Jan. 27.
Mr. Slavin taught public speaking,
drama and English for 30 years and
retired in 1998 from the Livonia school
system.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra
Cantor Slavin, and daughters, Tamara
(Smokey) Vines of Silt, Colo. and
Gabrielle Slavin of Montague, Mass.
A memorial service was held at the
Birmingham Temple.

NETTIE INDIANER SORKIN, 79,
died Feb. 8.
She had resided in the Detroit area the
past 25 years, cominc , from Flint. She
attended University of
b Michigan-Flint and
Wayne State University.
Mrs. Sorkin was employed by the State
of Michigan as a social worker and then as
an employment interviewer. She also
owned her own real estate company, LPR
Corporation.

Surviving are daughters, Lea Sakora of
Southfield, Pola Fletcher of Troy, Gina
Lippman of Stuart, Fla.; brother Dr. Leo
Indianer of Tarzana, Calif.; and five grand-
children.
Services were at Sharp Funeral Homes,
Swartz Creek. Interment in Machpelah
Cemetery, Flint.

Mr. Stone worked in the deli depart-
ment at Farmer Jack, was a union steward
and was the previous owner of McCohens
in Dearborn. He was also an army
instructor in heavy artillery during the
Korean War.
Mr. Stone is survived by his wife of 31
years, Marilyn Stone; daughters and sons-

ANNA SPITZ, 78, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Feb. 5. Mrs. Spitz was a department
store manager.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Janice and Dr. Stephen
Gunther of Bloomfield Hills; son and
"D daughter-in-law, Robert and Jane Spitz of
Hanover, Mass., and grandchildren,
Alexandra, Darren, William, Genevieve
and Alexander.
Mrs. Spitz was the beloved wife of the
late Martin Spitz.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
