Zingerman's Pro-Detroit Aids Newcomers To Town IT oung adults new to Detroit or those looking for housing, jobs and social activities have a new resource available to them: Pro-Detroit. The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit program encourages young adults to live and work in the Detroit area by helping them in a variety of areas geared toward their interests. Through its Community Connection, the Pro-Detroit database will help young adults find room- mates, apartments and other housing. For socializing, there will be a social calendar for events in the Jewish com- munity and links to activities in the general community. Information on congregations, volunteer opportuni- ties and getting involved in the Jewish community will be available. A Web site is being created to link Jewish young adults to Jewish community organizations and places of interest. Job hunters will be able to get help through the Pro-Detroit Internship and Employment Connection. In con- junction with the Jewish Vocational Service, paid internships will be . offered to college students and recent graduates as openings are available. The Internship and Employment Connection will help young adults begin their careers with resume and job-hunting workshops, career semi- nars and assistance in landing a job.
