His most meaningful mitzvah pro-
ject involved volunteering at Yad Ezra.
A student at Berkshire Middle School
in Birmingham, Michael is interested
in reading, golf and football.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Abigail Eve Fisher, an honor student
at Birmingham Covington Middle
School, will follow in the tradition of
her brothers, Seth
Michael, Benjamin
Isaac and Gabriel
Evan, and her par-
ents Marcy (Heller)
Fisher and Robert
Leonard Fisher, by
celebrating her bat
mitzvah at Temple
Beth El on Saturday,
Jan. 30. Abby is the granddaughter of
Audrey (Golden) and Philip M. Fisher
and Virginia (Lichtenstein) and Dr.
Harry A. Heller and represents six
generations at Temple Beth El.
Abby enjoys playing the flute,
singing, skiing, sailing and camping.
She volunteers at the ADL, has
worked with the Orchards to clean
and repair the Howard Dell
Community Center in Pontiac, parti-
cipated in the Lawson Youth Institute
and, to share her love of reading, col-
lects books for the children at the
COTS Wyoming Transitional
Housing Center in Detroit.

Mallory Jill Cantor will become a bat
mitzvah at Temple Israel on Friday,
Jan. 29. She is the
daughter of Cathy
Cantor and Dr.
Scott and Doreen
Cantor; sister of
Amanda, David and
Jared; and grand-
child of Rhoda and
Harvey Cantor and
Margaret Vingerelli.
Proud great-grandfather is Eugene
Walters. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Julius Vingerelli.
Attending Abbott Middle School in
West Bloomfield where she is an
honor student and sings in the choir,
Mallory enjoys horseback riding and
reading. She found it meaningful to
volunteer at Yad Ezra as part of her
mitzvah projects.

Michael Howard Lipsitz will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, Jan. 29. He is
the son of Joan and
Robert Lipsitz and
brother of Brian.

Michele Katz will become a bat mitz-
vah on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue. Michele is the
daughter of Steve
and Joanne Katz, sis-
ter of Ari, grand-
daughter of Herb
and Ruth Katz and
the great-grand-
daughter of Flora
Weisberg.
Michele is an
honor student at
Dunckel Middle School in Farmington
Hills. She enjoys music and dancing.
Michele's mitzvah project was volun-
teering her time and help at the
Southfield Hockey Club's MDA Skate-
a-thon for ALS research this past Labor
Day weekend.

Jeremy Scott Pappas will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Jan. 30, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek B'nai Israel.
He is the son of
David and Robin
Pappas and brother
of Kayla. Proud
grandmother is
Barbara Keila. He is
also the Branson of
the late Shirley and
Jim Pappas and
Robert Keila.
Jeremy's mitzvah projects included
assisting at Camp Beth Hayeled, deliv-
ering food for Yad Ezra and visiting a
nursing home. He is an honor student
at Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield and enjoys football, golf,
computers, Camp Ramah and the
Spartans.
A celebration in Jeremy's honor will
be held at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
