Baseball Lectures
Prepare For Season

The Community House in
Birmingham will host two baseball-
related programs.
The first, on Feb. 2 from 6:30-8:30
p.m., will be "20th Century Baseball
discussing the evolution of profession
al baseball including the Negro
Leagues and the All-American Girls
Professional Baseball League. Cost is
$17 for adults, $9 for children under
13.
On March 6, there will be a base-
ball coaches clinic from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. coaches'will work on teaching
players the fundamentals of the game
and will learn game management and
practice organization.

Registration Open

The Oak Park Recreation Department
will offer adult spring/summer softball
leagues for men and a co-recreational
league.
Registration for returning teams
began on Jan. 26, with new teams
signing up starting Mar. 1. A $100
deposit is needed at the time of regis-
tration.
Leagues offered this season are:
men's B league, men's C/D, men's over
50 A and B, men's over 60, and a co-
recreational league. For information,
