Rabbi Amy Brodsky, assistant direc-
tor of the Ecumenical Institute for
Jewish-Christian Studies, will be
guest rabbi at Congregation Shir
Tikvah in Troy, 7:45 p.m. Friday,
Jan. 15.
In addition to conducting the
Torah portion of the service, Rabbi
Brodsky will lead a discussion with
David Blewett, executive director of
the institute, on Jewish-Christian
relations with an emphasis on the
need for truth. They will encourage
input from congregants.

Elan Village, an assisted living com-
munity, will re-dedicate its chapel in
memory of Rabbi Abraham Gardin
1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17.
Rabbi Gardin served as rabbi for
the Jewish Home for Aged for many
years. In 1995, Prentis Manor dedi-
cated its chapel in memory of Rabbi
Gardin.

Teva is a program of the Jewish
Federation's Community Outreach
and Education Department devoted
to promoting the connection
between Jewish life and the environ-
ment and creating social action pro-'—\
jects related to the environment.
The group also holds outings with
opportunities for Jewish learning.
The interactive seder, held in cel-
ebration of the Jewish new year of
the trees, will feature traditional
foods. The program is co-sponsored
