Offering to help with the swimming
portions of the camp was Rabbi
Rosenberg's father-in-law, Dr. David
Lazerson, who earned a doctorate in
special education in Florida.
I Azerson said the camp "provides a
real service to the families who are
strapped and frustrated and really have
their hands full," he said. "It's also won-
derful for the volunteers. It opens their
eyes and keeps them sensitive people.
They don't grow up as self-centered as
kids tend to do."
Daniel Michaels signed up as a vol-
unteer when Rabbi Rosenberg spoke at
Temple Shir Shalom.
"I've always liked working with
kids," he said, adding that he would
certainly volunteer again.
"Volunteering made me feel so good.
It makes me feel like I helped improve
the whole community." Fl
