IDA BABCOCK, 83, of Southfield,
died Dec. 25. Ida was employed in

sales at Hudsons. She is survived by
her brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr.
Ruben and Florence Babcock of West
Bloomfield, Louis and Celia Babcock
of Southfield, Sam and Ilene Babcock
of Bloomfield Hills and nieces and
nephews. Ida was the loving sister of
the late Edith Goodman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

BEVERLY BLUTH, 54, of West

Bloomfield, died Dec. 25. Mrs. Bluth
was a master bridge player, a director
of the Michigan Bridge Association
and the former director of the New
Jersey Bridge League. She is survived
by her husband, Lawrence N. Bluth;
sons, Michael Bluth of Maryland,
David Bluth of Maryland; daughter,
Jennifer Bluth of Miami; mother,
Esther Leif Weinstein of North
Miami Beach, Fla., and brother and
sister-in-law, Bernard and Judy Leif of
New York. Mrs. Bluth was the loving
daugher of the late Louis Leif.
Interment at New Montefiore
Cemetery in New York. Contribu-
tions may be directed to the Kar-
manos Cancer Institute. Arrange-
ments by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

Park, N.Y., died Dec. 12. Mrs. Cole-
man was a volunteer at Parker Geri-
atric Institute at Long Island Jewish
Hospital for 25 years and member of
Brandeis Book Club for 17 years. She
is survived by her children, Susan and
Dr. Robert Weinstock of Bloomfield
Hills and Nancy Dann of Manhattan;
grandchildren, Michele Weston,
Steven and Lisa Weinstock, Amy and
Marc Kay, Laurence Dann and
Michael Dann; great grandchildren,
Nathan and Jeremy Weinstock, Jor-
dyn and Meredith Kay. She was the
beloved wife of the late Harry S.
Coleman.

DR. NAT H. CUTLER, of Green

Valley, Ariz., formerly of Southfield,
died Dec. 21. Dr. Cutler is survived
by his wife Molly Cutler; son, Sanford
Cutler of Phoenix; daughter and son-
in-law, Marcella and Ted Gelsthorpe
of Nedham, Mass; grandchildren, Jef-
fery, Michelle, Serena, Stephanie and
Tiffany Cutler; sisters-in-law and

brother-in-law, Mildred Gladstone of
North Hollywood, Calif, and Albert
and Ruth Zack of Farmington Hills.
He was the dear brother of the late
Jeanette Bronson.
Services were held in Arizona.
Placed at the request of the family by
Ira Kaufman Chapel.

HY FREEDLAND, 83, of Franklin,

died Dec. 23. He is survived by his
wife Gloria Freedland; son, Joel Freed-
land; daughters and son-in-law, Mari-
lyn Rosenthal, Karen Freedland,
Sheryl and Seth Korelitz; Zayde of
Hannah Ruby Korelitz; grandfather of
Howard Rosenthal; dear friends,
Frank and Franklin.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment were held at Machpelah
Cemetery. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

EDITH JEANETTE GANS, 94, of

Huntington Woods, died Dec. 23.
Edith was born in Hamburg, Ger-
many, on July 16, 1904 into a well-
known merchant family. She married
Ernst Gans in 1924 and they had a
wonderful life together for 68 years
until Ernst's death in 1992. Forced to
flee from Nazi Germany, the family
came to the United States in 1938,
and after abrief period in New York
settled in Detroit. Edith went to work
for Himelhoch's Stores in the better
dress department. They resided in
Pleasant Ridge for over 40 years. After
retiring from Himelhoch's and upon
her husband's resumption of his legal
activities, Edith became his assistant.
She also volunteered as a gallery aide
at the Detroit Institute of Arts for
many years.
Edith is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Margaret and Walter
M. Stark; grandchildren, Dr. Robert
and Helen Stark, Barbara and Dr.
Barry Nemon, Joanna and Jay Abram- '\
son, Julie and Rabbi Steven-Lowen-
stein; ten great- grandchildren. She
was the beloved wife of the late Ernest
Gans.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed
to Temple Beth El, or Temple
Emanuel. Arrangements by Ira Kauf-
man Chapel.

GERTRIDGE GLADNER, of New
York, died Dec. 23. Mrs. Gladner is

survived by her son and daughter-in-
law, Albert and Sharie Gladner of
Southfield; grandchildren, Nicole and
Ted Wagner, Merrily and Kenny
