MSU Offers
Israel Study

The Michigan Stare University Jewish
Studies Program Nvi 1 I offer an informa-
tion session on opportunities for study
at Israeli universities. Students and par-
ents are invited to attend at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Kahn JCC.
Refreshments will be served.
MSU Jewish Studies faculty, repre-
sentatives of the university's Office of
Study Abroad and students who have
participated in MSU's Study in Israel
programs will provide information
about programs and speak of their
experiences at Israeli universities.

Examines Faith

The Northwest Suburban Interfaith
Ministerial Association, Bloomfield
Community Television and the
Ecumenical Institute for Jewish-
Christian Studies will sponsor the next
taping of the television show "What's

Faith Gor To Do With It?"
Clergy address faith issues from the
viewpoints of their own religious tradi-
tions in this monthly show. Moderated
by Dr. Allan Eickelmann of the
Congregational Church of
Birmingham, this cable televison pro-
gram is filmed in local houses of wor-
ship.
The public is invited to participate
7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the
First Presbyterian Church, 1669 West
Maple, between Cranbrook and
Southfield roads, Birmingham. The
Rev. Ronald P. Byars, First Presbyterian
Church, Birmingham; Rabbi Marla J.
Feldman, assistant director, Jewish
Community Council of Metropolitan
Detroit; and Bishop Thomas J.
Gumbleton, Archdiocese of Detroit at
St. Leo Church, Detroit will discuss
"Religion and Public Life." The pro-
gram will last one half-hour; the clergy
will answer questions following the tap-
ing.

Chanukah Treats

The Benefactors of the Jewish
Home and Aging Services and
their families hosted their ninth
annual Chanukah parry for resi-
dents of the Fleischman
Residence/Blumberg Plaza in West
Bloomfield on Dec. 13.
The afternoon was packed with
300 people in attendance to enjoy
latkes, candle-lighting and the dis-
tribution of gifts from the benefac-
tors' host families: Marc and
Michele Borovoy and family,
Mark and Bonnie Kowalsky and
