Lead Beit Kodesh

Congregation Beit Kodesh recently
held installation of officers for the
11999-2000 term.
Elected are Jeffrey Kirsch, presi-
dent; Martin Diskin and Al
Gittleman, vice presidents; Phyllis
fwkowicz, treasurer; Joanne
Rabinowitz, corresponding secretary;
Bill Cottrell and Aaron Engel,
trustees (4-year term).

SZ Holds
Minyan Midrash

Minyan Midrash is a multi-genera-
tional service at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek giving congregants a
chance to participate in the Shabbat
service. Congregants can lead the ser-
vice as well as learn about the Torah
portion for the week.
Minyan Midrash meets the last

Shabbat of every month. The next
meeting will be 9:30-11:45 a.m.
Saturday, Dec. 26, in the small sanc-
tuary.

Basic Beliefs
Class Set

The Rabbi Max Weine Institute for
Judaism will begin its winter/spring
semester on Tuesday, Jan. 12. A
course in basic Jewish beliefs will be
taught by Rabbi David Nelson and
Alicia Nelson 7:30-9:30 p.m. every
Tuesday at Congregation Beth
Shalom.
The purpose of the class is to pro-
vide a basic understanding of Jewish
ideas, history, holidays and customs
Learning to read Hebrew and the
recitation of many blessings and
prayers will be included.
Registration may be made by
speaking to any Conservative rabbi in
the community or by contacting
