FRANCES LEFKOWITZ, 91, of
West Bloomfield, died Dec. 15. Mr.
Lefkowitz was the co-owner of Her-
man Jewelers with five stores in
Mississippi. He received his MBA
from Columbia University and was
a past president of the Hadassah
Chapter in Jackson, Miss. Mr.
Lefkowitz is survived by his daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Lois Simon of
East Lansing, Ann and Jerry Mega-
lizzi of West Bloomfield; son and
daughter-in-law, Herman and
Diane Lefkowitz of Penscola, Fla.;
grandchildren, Cheryl and Michel
Lyman, Eric and Patti Simon, Todd
Simon, Beth Simon, Brad and Jan-

94, of Southfield, died Dec. 19.
Mrs. LaBret served on the Govern-
ing Board and was the first Special
Gifts Chairman and the first Youth
Aliyah Chairman for Hadassah. She
was also one of seven Detroit
women to attend the opening of
the Hadassah Hosptial in Jeruselum
and served on the board of the
Women's Division of Federation.
Mrs. LaBret is survived by her
nephews and nieces, George and
Libby Weingarden, Melvin and Mon-
nie Weingarden, Dr. Leonard and
Maureen Wayne, Donald and Maxine
Weingarden, Beverly Weingarden,
Sylvia Barak, Rose and Ephraim
Ross, Elaine and Manuel Sarko and
Janet Randolph. She was the beloved
wife of the late Sam Shekter and the
late Ben LaBret.
