sheer number of people there is
overwhelming."
CRUSY consists of 750 teens from
Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Western
Pennsylvania and Kentucky. They are
departing for Chicago on Dec. 23, and
staying in homes with Chicago Region
USY (CHUSY) families until Dec. 27.
They will then move to the posh
Chicago Marriott until New Year's
Eve, whek they will be divided into
groups for seminars, based on grade
and Judaic background. They will also
have an opportunity to go out and
sightsee around Chicago.
During the week, all the partici-
pants will be split up into regions and
spend a half day doing community
service in Chicago.
"There is constant supervision,"
said Sharon Levine, the Michigan field
worker for CRUSY, citing a ratio of
one adult to eight teens. "They don't
feel it because they are having fun."
The Reform NFTY Michigan will
hold its regional convention, "Winter
Kallah," Jan. 22-24 at Temple Beth El.
"Most of the group goes out of
town around this time," said Ellie
Klein, the NFTY Michigan advisor.
