site www.timezone7.com ." "It's a
spiritual cleanser, a vision quest, a
chance to gain a new perspective
on life, a break from the daily
grind, and the freedom to live in
the moment."
Waldman, a bassist in the band
The Found, and Siegel, a graphic
design artist, found themselves
asked "why"repeatedly by friends
and family before embarking on
their exotic journey.
"Our goals might never be fully
within our grasp. We might search
the planet only to find the treasure
was not the Grail we seek, but
rather the Quest that has led us
down these paths," they write in
their Web site.
While it is costly to do so regu-
larly, the still-traveling Waldman
and Siegel periodically send back
reports and photos for their home
page, which is being maintained in
Minneapolis by Curtis Smith.

Their adventure began Oct. 14.
They flew to Tokyo, then Bangkok,
Thailand, and finally Katmandu,
Nepal.
Between Oct. 23 and Nov. 11,
the friends traveled through the
Everest Region of Nepal, and hiked
the 18,000-foot-high Kala Pattar.
On Nov. 25,
they took off for
Delhi, India,
where they plan
to stay until
around Jan. 31,
1999. Sometime
after they leave
India, they'll ger
to Thailand for a
month; Bali,
Indonesia, for a
couple of weeks;
Australia for six
weeks, then
return home to
Minneapolis.
Thus far, the
stories from
their travels
have been fasci-
nating, from the
hassles of waiting in customs at
the airport, to experiencing the
temples in Katmandu. They offer
their schedule for the eight days
leading up to the Nepal hike: 7
a.m., Jeff wakes Mike up; 7:30-
9:30, breakfast; 9:30-11:30, nap
time; 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., organiz-
ing/planning (sightseeing along
the way); 2-3, light lunch; 3-6,
touring and sightseeing; 6-9,
optional e-mail/nap/touring time;
9-10:30, cocktails and dinner;
11, lights out; 3:45 a.m., Mike
yells at Jeff to stop snoring.
The page is well laid out, with a
different color scheme for each
country visited. While the site isn't
always real up-to-date for when
reports are put on, they do get up
eventually. Keep checking this site.
The photos and the stories make it
a keeper.
